Project Philosophy
The core philosophy behind every Jacobs Linder work process is Deliverables Based Management. Jacobs Linder promotes a mindset in all personnel with a focus on the end product (“Deliverables”) for any Client request. A “Deliverable” is any product developed by the project team (drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, etc.) or any service associated with the project (management, coordination, meetings, etc.). The purpose of any project is to produce deliverables to meet the Client’s project objective, and all work effort is geared to producing these deliverables. To achieve this goal, Jacobs Linder utilizes a Deliverables Database System (DDS) to manage all project-related activities. This system is utilized from the initial estimating / proposal phase of a project, all the way through detailed project execution, and concluding with final project metrics at project closure for historical tracking. In this way, Jacobs Linder can treat every job in the exact same way - be it T&M or Lump-Sum - thus providing every project with a consistent and superior level of estimating, tracking, and reporting. All aspects of Jacobs Linder’s project controls philosophy are aimed at keeping the Client fully aware of project budget and schedule. Regular status reports and schedule updates are a must - both for the Client, and the project team itself. This system not only helps us continually improve our project execution and deliverable quality, but also creates an open, honest foundation on which Client relationships are built… relationships that, throughout our history, have been one of the main keys to our success.
